Let's Stop Being Our Own Worst Critic

I'm guessing if you are reading this blog that you can be at times your own worst critic? Me too...

In fact I hear it all the time from female friends, family members, work colleagues etc. As women we more often than not are pretty critical of ourselves, whether that be we hate our bodies regardless of what shape we are, tell ourselves off for not sticking to that diet, question whether we are good enough wives, partners, mothers, daughters the list goes on......

Essentially what our internal self critic is saying is that we are just not good enough, which is really sad if you think about it. This has got me thinking as to why we do it? Why are we as women so hard on ourselves? Why don't we celebrate our wins enough? Why don't we celebrate who we are enough? Why do we compare ourselves to others so much? 

It is time we celebrated our uniqueness as women.

Yes this may seem easier said than done, but I'm willing to give it a try aren't you? As women don't we go through enough already to then add being our own worst critic to the list. What with periods, childbirth, fertility issues, menopause to name just some!!! Wouldn't it be much kinder and nicer if we actually gave ourselves a pat on the back from time to time?
